Places in So. Cal to purchase a helmet

Hi all you Southern Cal NSX'r,

I'll be in Ontario (airport) for a couple of weeks and want to know a good place to purchase a Snell 2000 auto helmet. Looking for a place in Ontario or close by that has a good selection and fair prices. Hopefully a place that is open on Saturday, but I might be able to get out of work Friday early.

Any help is appreciated.

P.S.

I won't have my NSX because I need to pack lots of stuff for a two week stay. If your in the area, PM me cause I'd like to check out your NSX.

Well, I'm guessing that none of the NSX owners here in So. California own a helmet nor do you know of a place that helmets are sold. Who would have figured?

Or if you are looking for a store front, from my research, sube sport in OC, or I heard there is a Sparco store in Irvine somewhere. Do a search on this forum for "helmet", something should pop up!

Welcome to So California!

I'm planning to buy my helmet at Autobacs. I went there last week and they basically have two manufacturers. Sparco & Fumar. The Sparco helmets range from $500-$700 and the Fumar ones are $99. There's also a meet there this Thursday, so you could buy your helmet and check out the local nsx's!

If you know what size you need than online sales are great. However, if you don't know your hat size: have someone (you should not do this yourself) measure your head or go to a Motorcycle accessory store and try on different helmet brands. Yes, they vary that much. Find a brand ie: Bell, Arai, etc. to get a general feel of the fit and size. Then you can place your order online. HTH

Try Chaparrel in San Bernardino. Its mostly motorcycle gear but close to Ontario and they have a good selection of Bell helmets.
