Hi Guys, I decided I really can't stand my polished aluminum stock wheels on my 95....

Question is.. does the fact that they're polished preclude the ability to powder coat them?

These are my only wheels... I.e. i don't have another set to put on why they are being coated... so how did others work around this problem?

And finally, has anyone had this done in the aforementioned area? I only want to deal with shops and people that come highly recommended.

Thansk!

Yes, they can be powdercoated.

The easiest thing to do is just put the car on jack stands in your garage while the wheels are being done. Or you could put it on cinderblocks in your front yard for that "rustic" look....

AL can be sandblasted and powdercoated. A good place is in Mukilteo - Powder Coating, Inc. 425-743-4393.

There were other club members in my area that were willing to let me borrow an old set of their wheels temporarily. You should post like I did and see if there is anyone to let you borrow a set for a couple weeks.

What color are you planning on changing them to?
