Pictures won't upload

I'm trying to upload pictures to an album. I've made sure it's the right type, jpg and the right size. It's smaller than the required maximum and the file type is correct, but it just sits there thinking and will not upload the picture from my computer. I tried last night and tonight. Am I doing something wrong?

Can you give me the URL of the page you're on when this happens?

Are you trying to upload a single picture or a group of pictures?

I haven't been able to upload photos for many months now, either.

If I go to the Gallery, navigate to my gallery, and click on "Upload Photos", I get to a page that lets me select files to upload, tells me how much disc space is being used for my account, etc. Despite having 45 photos in my gallery and lots more saved as attachments to individual posts, it tells me I am only using 3kb of disc space. So right off the bat, it looks like there is something wrong.

When using Firefox as a browser, uploading photos doesn't work at all. It tries to upload and after a while I get the message that the upload failed. Last week I had the brilliant idea to try a different browser and used Internet Explorer. I didn't get a failure message after uploading a photo but the photo never showed up in my gallery anyhow.

It would be nice to be able to upload NSX-related photos but unfortunately my last successful upload was on Oct. 2, 2012.

I can't upload pictures either and it doesn't matter what page I'm on, the site just won't do it. Do I need to be at a higher or lower contribution level to get this service?...LOL What do I need to do to correct this problem?

I found a way to upload pictures!!! I went into General Settings and set Enhanced Attachment Uploading to off. I don't know why it works but it does.

Me TOO!! I had trouble uploading from my computer and got the message about exceeding my quota.
I erased my saved attachments and it erased them from my posts as well.
Is there a way to get these back?, and still be able to add attachments?
=DREW=

Thanks for finding that! After killing Enhanced Attachment Uploading I can upload pictures again, too!

Edit: Today, a couple of days later, I just tried to upload another picture and even with Enhanced Attachment Uploading turned off, it wouldn't work using Firefox as my browser. It worked using Internet Explorer, however.

I took a look and basically older browsers and some plugins cause it to behave erratically. I disabled the advanced image insert dialogue box globally since that wasn't user-selectable.

If you still have trouble, try disabling the enhanced attachment upload thingy at the bottom of your user profile options here: http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/profile.php?do=editoptions

In my testing this stuff all works in current browsers with plug-ins disabled..

If you can't get it to work, another option is to use the photo gallery software and just link the images in your post: http://www.nsxprime.com/photopost/

I’m glad that it’s working again. I usually use Firefox and since it’s set to automatically update, it’s always up-to-date. I’m currently running version 21.0, which is the current version. I installed the plug-in “Adblock Plus” because on NSX Prime I had to click “back” multiple times to go through several layers of googleads to get to the previous page. Maybe Adblock fixes that but also somehow causes problems uploading picures in vBulletin.

I had to click “back” multiple times to get through all the googleads using Internet Explorer as well. I didn’t install Adblock or any such plug-ins but in the past, I still couldn’t upload pictures using IE. I have whatever version of IE “Microsoft Update” has automatically installed on my machine.

In any case, if you’re getting your ads from the largest advertising agency in the world (Google) and have no problems surfing NSX Prime with Google’s browser (Chrome), maybe the company whose motto is “don’t be evil” is selflessly trying to open people’s eyes to the gifts their browser offers.

Maybe I’ll install a third internet browser (Chrome) without any plug-ins just for NSX Prime. The limited compatibility of googleads and vBulletin with the various browsers out there kind of sucks, though.

The back button issue was apparently a problem with the vBulletin implementation of the FaceBook Connect feature.. Nothing to do with Google AdSense per se.

It should be fixed now, if not please let me know in that other thread.

Trust me I'm more frustrated by stuff like this than you guys. It's hard to strike a balance between making things work reasonably well and getting sucked down a rat hole of wasting time trying to fix stuff that I can't fix because it's really something going on with the user's computer or ISP, etc. And no matter what I do, someone somewhere is going to have issues of some kind because no piece of the puzzle we're working with is flawless.
