High quality product here. All I can say was WOW when I open the envelope.
The R&R was time consuming, but that's a must for this evolution. The rings are no jokes to remove, phewws. Other then that, the install was straight forward (no instructions needed)
Thanks again Vance, you are the MAN!
BTW, the CF piece is dry carbon and very very thin and matches the oem piece perfectly (got it from Japan also).

IMHO, It looks much cleaner without the carbon fiber overlay in bottom of this pic.

does anyone have pictures of these actual TYPE R faces with the lights turned on? thanks!.... btw, looks freakin awesome...

Yes..I LOVE mine. The quality on the gauge faces are very nice indeed. I'm really happy that you decided to not use that CF overlay. Looks much more like the real NSX-R gauges without it not to mention much better in general!

A few questions if I may please:
- do these rings simply clip off/on from the main dash?
- what type of paint did you use?
- did they need primer base coat?

results look great and I hope to emerge from the winter with the same view through the steering wheel!

regards

Hey Paul, thanks for getting the last set from me. If you like, I can send you my painted rings, and you can send me back your rings. Let me know. If you want to paint it, just careful for over spray paint drops. And yes, they do simply pop off.

Vance,

You are a true gentleman! I would appreciate this as it will speed up my installation. Please post with the overlays. I will return originals by secure post.

Thank You

Paul

As Vance is still awaiting his original dash to arrive I will be hoping to do paint my own guage rings.

Can you please advise on the remaining questions above please?

Paul

Received the overlays today so there really is a Santa ........his name is Vance:wink:

Would REALLY appreciate advise on the paint please.

Metalic paint, make sure you lay the rings facing up on top of some thing. Light spray, dry, and keep the process over and over until the ring is completely in red.

It is not a bright red, but little on the rose red side. Check out my other thread you will see it.

Good luck

Vance

those gauge faces are really something... i need to get my hands on a set ...

its like lamborghini brick red metallic. not sure what the color name or code is, but its for sure not bright pepper red.

since these rings have very little surface area, it's easy to go overboard and spray too much. watch out for drips.

i used a foam box from some of my HID packaging, used toothpicks to mount up the rings.

try to spray very lightly about 2 feet away. take your time. don't lay it on thick, because you might have a problem poppong it back on to the bezel.
no primer or base coat needed.
you can use hobby paint or pay MV Designz to do it.

Thanx for the info ref painting the rings Gents.

I'm hoping to find time over the holiday period and will post pics when complete.

Merry Christmas guys.

regards

Paul

Type-R replica installed in UK

A huge thanx goes to Vance for supplying possibly the only set to the UK!

Thanx also for the install advice, and to evof575gtc for technical support.

You know what they look like but here's a couple of xtra shots.

One of the best upgrades that was available
