You're not so far away with your question. Before I ordered in late '97 the '98 car you see in the thread SoS linked, my dealer had a colour chart from Honda Germany stating this colour as "dark charcoal". In later brochures it was changed to "magnum gray pearl" or "magnum grey pearl".

This is a car I've seen in the UK, so it is a Euro spec colour. I'm told its quite close to black - if its the same colour as NSX-Racer then I'm sold!
