That sad time is upon us in lousy southeastern Michigan, thus the car sits until April. This was my storage solution a couple of years ago and has worked very well. The lift is a Perfect Park 7000, cost around $3000.00. Garage door also needs a commercial opener and track.

Zman:

Where's your wife?!?!;) I mean, I've come to expect some beautiful pictures from you, and even though this is pretty cool, your wife beats this hands down!:D

At least you won't have to endure the "nice rack" comments!

:) :) :) :) :)

Todd

BTW, do you like your M5?

Todd,

I will post more pics of her on the Picture forum. You can also join her yahoo group- just search Karen Zaremba.

I LOVE my M5, in fact I hardly drive my NSX since I got it. I have a deposit on the new 5 series M5, thinking about buying it and selling the NSX. The german super sedans are awesome!!

My ceiling is 10' 8". The track around 9' 8". This is the highest that they could make the door open. Here is the pic with the garage door open. Lift is all the way up.

The first photo is deceptive. It seems to show the garage door track to be lower than the roof line of the car. But that is a sweet set-up! Do you need ramps to drive the NSX onto the tracks?

Zman did you need to pour footings under the posts? Who was the manufacturer? I've very interested, my Spring 2004 project is to remodel my 4 car garage. Luckly I also have a 10' height to work with. I'm torn between what you have or a standard service lift. Thank you for the photos, even without your better half :D

Chopsjazz,

There is a pair of 14lb aluminum ramps that hook on back to drive off.

Coolnsx,

No footings needed. Not even bolted to floor. Lift weighs 2000lb + 3000lb NSX, it's not going anywhere!! The manufacturer is Perfect Park 7000, shouldn't be hard to find on the net. With service lift you must be careful opening doors, posts are right were the doors open!!

VULAVU : no, it's an NSX in Cryogen (Hypersleep) :D

Zman : how many inches gap is there between the NSX roof and ceiling? It looks VERY close... same with the garage door.

Nice setup though... excellent

Neonsx,

The gaps between car and ceiling/garage door are not as close as they look, good 6-8 inches. Maybe you consider that close. If you noticed, I recessed all the garage lights so the car would not touch and for cosmetics. Also, commercial openers don't come with lights, so I placed a motion detecting switch for the garage lights that opens with the garage door, car or person.

Chopsjazz,

I think the manufacturer said you need a minimum of 9'. I purchased mine from Lifts Unlimited-www.liftsunlimited.com, check out the site. You will not be able to put the lift all the way up with that height, but that doesn't matter as long as both cars fit, just watch your head on the lift!!

ZMan - Your lift setup looks great! I have a similiar setup at my place, we need to get together again and check out each others garages. I have a detatched garage that I am having redone and when it is finished I am going to have some type of meet. I will let everyone know the details.

Chopsjazz - 9 ft. will work with all of the lifts I have seen as long as both cars are low enough. For example the NSX with just about any car would work but not with a SUV. My garage had a little under a 9 ft. ceiling and I had the NSX and several other cars under it at various times.

By the way I have a backyard buddy four post lift.
