Just foolin'. Not really a 1:1 NSX. (I plan on keeping my 95 for a while. ) It's actually a 1:18 scale R/C version.
I built an HPI Micro RS4 last Sunday, spending the afternoon doing it while watching football. Today, I got around to setting up the body and taking a few pics. The chassis has a belt-driven, 4WD system.
HPI makes some pretty cool 7-spoke wheels that look like chrome versions of the 16/17 OEM wheels.
The body is actually the 2003 JGTC Mobil body, but I decided to just paint over the headlights to resemble a pre-2002 version.
Here's a pic of the chassis under the lexan body. Most "serious" racers get small, micro-sized electronics (i.e speed controls, receivers, servos, and power supplies), but since I got the car for strictly casual use, I just went ahead and put in standard stuff.
Prices break down to about $80 - $90 for the chassis kit, $15 for the clear NSX body if bought separate, about $80 for the electronics (transmitter, receiver, speed control), and about $10 for the OEM style wheel set. Add about another $20 - $30 for alkaline and rechargeable NiMh batteries and a charger.
HPI also sells a RTR (pre-assembled) version for under $200 including car, body, and electronics, but it comes in a slightly longer chassis version. You would have to do some minor disassembling and replace the belt with a shorter one.
