DashRipRock and myself went for a cruise this morning out to the Kananaskis. Thought I'd attach a few pics. Both cars are stock '91's so it's more about the backgrounds than the cars themselves... though they do make good foreground subjects! [Edit, I just set up a webspace to host the photos... won't be there forever but for a while anyway]

Two other people couldn't make it at the last minute, another NSX and an M3. Maybe next time.

Red and Silver. Looks familiar....my friend and I used to drive around together all the time until I wiped out my red and bought his silver:

It's kind of nice to just drive around with a couple of other NSXs once in a while. Anyone here live in Vancouver interested in wasting some gas with me?

Unfortunately I'm tied up next weekend so I won't be going. However I am trying to organize something for Sunday September 7th. I have a good friend bringing his 300ZX TT down from Edmonton for the Calgary Z Club Show & Shine on the 6th. Thought we'd get a few nice cars together for a cruise the next morning. All are welcome to come, PM me if interested.

Nope, but both cars started out fairly clean to begin with (see the first pic in front of Earl's). Didn't get any large critters like grasshoppers though.

Up coming Drive

NCC-1701D, let me know if you are interested in coming down Aug 17th I will include you in the group email. Thus far there are more M3's than NSXs, hopefully you can make it down.

Later.

Nice pictures...I was in Canada with my NSX and drove from Indiana to Toronto, then north to Barrie and never saw another NSX...then I got into Barrie (a farily small town) and saw a red NSX-T!! LOL! :)

What was used to lower that silver NSX?

Just curious, did you both remove your DRL's? Why?

If you want a really blunt answer....I think they look stupid and outdated....

The silver one's got Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. The Bilstein's are sitting on the lowest perch.

Actually, one of them looks great on my black '91!! :D

Peter, you are truly generous. Thanks, again.

Sorry Michael

Open mouth, insert foot.

Hey Michael, aside from me eating my words, did Ray contact you? He was planning a drive with me and Pam but it fell through, wondering if you might be able to make it next time?

CokerRat : AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

That 2nd photo should be POTM... do you have a higher resolution version? I'd like that to be my wallpaper. :D The other's are just as good (lovely sharp & well defined photos).

Did you shoot these with an SLR (and one hell of a scanner) or a digital camera (one heck of a camera!)???

Wow thanks Neo, I'm honored!! :) It was a Canon A40 digital camera... nothing too special but great scenery always makes the picture IMO. I'd be happy to send you a hi-res copy (1600x1200), p-mail me with your email address.

Looks great, although it's the first time I've seen two (stock) NSXs with stock 5-spoke wheels in a long time! :D

Very Nice. Calgary has one of the best mountains! I love the drive from Calgary to Banff...such a beauty. I also loved dining at Joey Tomato's while I was in town ;)...good view there also.

Daytime Running Lights? Just a guess.

I think you got it! I was looking for something that was missing, not the added lights. Did the DRL come standard on the older NSX's because my 1997 doesn't have them. I agree with peter's comment that they look out dated. They remind me of the Bosch daytime lights that I had on my Datsun 280Z in high school or should we say old school?:D

You guys anywhere near Banff or Lake Louise? I spent two summers on Tunnel Mountain going to the Banff School of Fine Arts. However this was 20 years before the NSX!

Soichiro, we both live in Calgary, about 1.5 hours from Banff and I try to make it to Banff/ Lake Louise 1-2 times per year. We almost always go there when friends are in town. We do go hiking several times a year also. I was just there last week for a cruise through the mountians and a breath of fresh air. The drive is much nicer in the NSX.

Great BC Roads

Canadian Rockies........nothing compares. I lived in Spokane WA and drove my NSX thru BC for many years , loving every mile of it. Passing on 2 lane roads was safe and easy because the Winnebagos were like cones on an auto-cross. We went to Kelowna a lot and Hwy 33 was a deserted dream. Pavement always seemed to be in better shape than we had in the US. Miss that scenery.

Damn you, now I want my NSX more oh well I guess my Z will have to do for now ;)
Anyway next summer I will have to join the posse and come for a spin with ya hopefully in a X
