Pic request, 02+ nsx night shots with oem or aftermarket HIDs.

I like the whitest white possible with no hint of yellow of blue, am I asking too much? If I remember correctly the OEM HIDs are very white.

Jason then you will need to get the 4300k HID's those are like OEM lighting.

no yellow, and no blue. wow
like asking for a pure white colorless diamond.

OEM more white than yellow.

but those are the colors it looks like.
looks like stock halogens but much much brighter and clearer thanks to HID and clear lamp housing and lenses of the 02's

4300k will be white/yellow. no blue, no teal, no green, no purple.
though it will flicker all the colors of the electromagetic color spectrum at other's point of view. i notice this on the projectors on both 91's and 02's.

the reason why i upgraded to the 02 was to get the clarity without changing my 91-01 iron filled glass covers to polycarbonate.

i spent a little more money(a lot quite actually) and got a whole type-r going on.

btw, i have your D2S HID for your 02R.

Thanks, can't wait to see it on the car. Got to do the 02 projectors justice. HID is the only way to go. I want white, but Angle want blue:frown:. As long as one of us is happy that will do. If I can only have one out of the two (no hint of blue or yellow), I would prefer no hint of yellow.

I thought OEM was very white? maybe I need see it up close again.

I had several Lexus and BMWs, I like the lights on the GS400 the best, your SC430 probably have same HIDs. Those HIDS were really pretty.

Is this OEM?

Is this 4300K or 5300k?

OEM do turn blue when first switch on but will turn slightly yellow after a while.

I think diamond white is around 5000k-5300k......

Hey Jason,

That is OEM, but is only that blue just after you turn on the lights. Once they warm up, they are completely white on the road. From outside, you get several colors (most notably purple) because of the projectors.

Let me know if you want to come take a look in person.

You can't really trust the color ratings that the kits come with. It's best to see the light in person. I've seen an 8000k kit that puts out less usuable light than the stock halogens while there are some 8000k kits that seem to be closer to 6000k on the chart.

Here is a thread that has a McCulloch 6000k kit next to a Philips 6000k kit. The McCulloch kit put out a greenish blue light while the Philips was more white with a tinge of violet. On the road the Philips puts out significantly more light.

You're lucky enough to be in SoCal where you can see enough cars to pick the best one for you.

for what it's worth, i got jason OEM 4300k Phillips D2S bulbs. so much much sharper, crisper, but most of all brighter than that mcculloch junk. there shouldnt even be a need for a comparison. when you see 500 listings for mcculloch hid kits on ebay going for $89.99, you know its all over.

Jason I think 4300K is what you want. Thats very white. Stocks fire up a bit blue, then a minute later they are white. I don't think its yellow at all...

I think blue is rather rice... it reminds me of Autozone, Isle 5. Early HID cars from germany were very blue... but that was 10 years ago... now they are all white. I commend you for wanting white... the purest, best light. stick to your guns man! :)

evof575gtc: what does the Lotus Elise Run? 10k deep blue/purple color? Thats what im looking for.
