I'm looking for recommendations on a GOOD wheel/tire shop in the PHX area. Specifically, I'm in need of tire mounting and balancing at the moment. I'm in Ahwatukee, but will travel for quality work if need be.

I found only one previous post with this inquiry, with only one real response, which was Discount Tire on Scottsdale Rd.

Given the rate at which we go through tires, I figure there should be a few recommendations out there. Any additional input you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx -

Hey Richard, are we ever going to see your car at the Pavilions?

Try Wheel Specialists in Tempe. I don't know the number but they're in the phone book.

Thanx much for the input. I spoke with Wheel Specialists yesterday, and plan to give 'em a try next week. Since I'm well into the tread wear indicators, I'd better do it before this beautiful weather deteriorates.

PHOEN$X>>>Hey Richard, are we ever going to see your car at the Pavilions?

Since moving to the area recently I've been far more preoccupied with some things than I'd like. Most of my limited NSX seat time has been devoted to doin' recon for good backroads. I'm sure when things settle down a bit for me I'll be crawling out of the woodwork. In the mean time, you might want to cut the new guy some slack and enlighten me as to what / where a "Scottsdale Pavilions" is <G>. I haven't run across this place yet, and my curiosity's killin' me. If there are NSXs hanging out there, I need to know where it is.

Take the 101 North to Indian Bend, exit left (head west), on your right there will be a McDonalds, pull in and that is where all the cars are.

Thanx Syonara. NSXs hangin' around a McDonalds? Whoda thunk? Well if nothing else, I guess one could truly call that "fast food". I guess I'll have to check that out some time, but I think I'll eat before I go!

Richard, which side of town do you live? I'm trying to hook up with more NSX owners on the west side. The Pavilions are at Indian Bend Rd & Pima, here is their web page:

It's AWESOME! Check out what the AZ Republic has to say:

To check out some cool cars I've photographed there, follow this link and then click on "Car shows."

Hope to hook up with you sometime!

By the way, there are other restaurants than "McDonalds" at the Pavilions. They have a Japanese and Mongolian grill places there, and lately several of us have been going out for a drive followed by food (sushi the last couple of times) afterwards. You're more than welcome to join us.

Also, we usually don't get there till after 6pm (usually between 7-8) due to the crowds, and the reserved parking area doesn't open up to the public till then.
