Huh... any opinions?

I kinda likey.... what do you think? Thanks a lot Blodi.

I like the matched wheel. I just had my 2002 wheels refreshed with a slightly lighter silver to match my sebring silver NSX paint.

i like it too... looks clean

BUT being jdm crazy i would suggest doing something drastic and paint them the gold color of the brake caliper!!!!!

i'm not a big fan of it. even though i have gunmetal wheels too, but i think gun metal is pretty played out. also the main problem i have with it is that the wheels would kinda disappear if it matches with the cars paint. esp if its a darker color like your silverstone color.

i actually happen to like the brighter colored stock wheels alot

IMHO I would go darker and not color matched. I like dark wheels. I did a really dark gun metal with lots of metalic fleck and it tured out awsome. Unfortunately someone else is enjoying the wheels since I sold them with my beolved car.

Either way, you really can't go too wrong with stock wheels. I end up liking stock setups far longer than aftermarket for some reason. I guess aftermarket stuff tends to get old where-as I find stock wheels just grow on me.

I have just gone through this dilema myself as to how to re-finish the OEM rims. I love Silverstone on the NSX but IMO the rims need to contrast; either lighter or darker, so for me its either leave as stock or go Type S and the dark grey.

Blodi if you are bored at work tomorrow, can you do a few different colors? both brighter and darker? a shade of bronze, gunmetal, gold, etc.? Even black maybe?

The more I stare at the car the more I realize a contrast is kinda nice...

very stange that Type S picture has no logo on the center cap. I tried to take the "A" off my wheels, and they have two nipples that go into the cap. So I will have two holes to patch if I remove them but I like the simplicity better.

I agree.

Turbo2go, it is entirely up to your decision no matter what choice gets voted the most, but I will still give you my vote and opinion.
gunmetal- flows well with a silver body
chrome- doesn't fit an nsx
black- a glossy blk would be alot better. IMO, red and black is the better combo
gold- silver and gold (color of treasure? therefore, gives nsx a more luxury look)
bronze- gold is better. Afterall, nsx always wins for gold, not bronze
white- not for sebring silver. White is better on primary colors like red or blue.

Actually this exact car is why I thought of painting the wheels silverstone. because the match on this body, which is a lighter silver, is perfect and this car looks really good.

I do like the gunmetal as well. Not sure if wheels can be re-finished with the same durability as factory. Certainly don't want something flaking...

dang. you're good!

No kidding... fast and well done... he should be the official photoshop guy here. Thanks again Blodi.

Blodi can you take the sideshot of the NSX above and create a silverstone/silverstone image? I think the one above is the Kaiser silver. Or do I need to get you a sideshot of my car? In fact can you do those wheel colors with the whole car?

Not to take you away from work or anything. :)

gunmetal

Personally I kinda like the gunmetal....but thats just my opinion....if you want a car designers opinion...

Yeah this would be my pick too, make sure you get more sparks to shine that gunmetal. I personally would do a chrome silver like this one on the G35 coupes:

The edge of the spokes would most likely turn out to look like the color of your car body and the surface would be nice and shiny, just my 2cent

As someone else posted, you need contrast with the rims. That's the biggest drawback I see with the OEM rims and silverstone - not EXACTLY the same, but not too different either. I love the older Kaiser silver NSXs with shiny polished OEM rims - nothing looks better. (Except black 02+ with gunmetal OEM rims  ).

PM me if you go the gunmetal route, I'd love to see some more pics. The NSX-R above gunmetal photoshop looks good but not that much better IMHO.

Personally, I hate matching color rim with body color. It doesn't look right.

Imagine a red car with red color rim or a yellow car with yellow rim.

Like other said, it comes down to your preference. Do what makes you happy.
