Can you fight a photo radar ticket? They got me doing 68 in a 50. I drive that street all the time and I'm one of the few that slows from 80 to 50 right when the marker is reached. Then you continue at 50 for a few kilometers.
I put the car in a low gear to keep up the revs and I have no recollection of speeding. Perhaps I stepped on the gas to avoid getting caught in a yellow/red light?
Should I plead not guilty and start crying?

18 over, you should fight it. It is good practice to fight every single speeding ticket you ever get in your life.

At least get it reduced to 15 over where no points will be dinged on your license.

Not sure where you're located Tony, but when Ontario had photo radar, from what I recall it never impacted your points -- it was strictly a fine.

Personally, I loved photo radar... easy to pick up on the detector and worst case if you got caught, you paid the fine and went on your merry way.

Yes, you should ALWAYS fight any ticket you get. In this case, I would just hire a traffic lawyer. I'm sure he will know how to get out of just about anything...

I forgot to write that no points are lost with a photo radar ticket.
We have a funny system, around 48 intersections in the city have red light/ speed cameras. The signs are posted and well published on the net. Half the cameras are operating at one time so you'd have to be an idiot and unlucky at roulet to get caught speeding or running a red by them. There are portable radar units in police cars that are parked on the side of the road but these were promised to be left only in school zones and construction zones.
Maybe I had a 195 dollar brain cramp but 50 kph to 68 kph takes about two seconds if I floored it to avoid a red light. You can't brake hard for a yellow because you will get hit from behind is not going to impress the judge. The thing is I don't remember what happened and they got me dead on the evidence. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time has been mentioned to me.
One of the reasons you get no points is they don't know who was driving the car. If I fight it they will know who drove the car. I think I'll just pay it and charge it to stupid taxes. That is tax of the stupid.

Ontario has no points for 15 over or less? We get points for 1 kph over. The police probably don't write many 1 kph over tickets. They will take my licence away at 50kph over.

I could be given points for no front plate as well. I have no front plate but in these fiscal times I'm thinking of putting it on.
