Some choice quotes:

"the first thing I noticed was how the driver’s seating position and view over the dashboard were very reminiscent of the first gen car. I immediately felt right at home"
" It never occurred to try it in automatic mode because the paddle shifter never denied my commands, up or down"

"I found the NSX’s steering to be precise, easy to point and communicative as you approach the apex. At the limits of the tires in the middle of the two tight hairpins, expectedly the car would begin to understeer. Normally when this happens, my brain sends a message to my foot to be patient and stay away from the throttle (unlike the students I used to sit next to in my instructor days who tended to mash on the gas in attempt to fix such occurrences). But quite quickly, with a bit of encouragement from Ted, I found out the torque vectoring of the electric motors on the front end could actually tuck the nose in and allow for an amazingly quick departure from the corner. Wow, this car is agile and fun!"

good read...he is biased though:wink:

Nice read, thanks. NSXPO wasn't really his first time on the left side of the car, was it? Or was this his first time in this iteration of the Gen 2 (near-final version)?

yep - that was the first time he was behind the wheel of the new NSX.

OK thanks. At last year's NSXPO, I recalled hearing about a Gen 2 test mule being at the research center short track garage before NSXPO attendees arrived, and I also recall talk (or maybe it was just conjecture) about him likely spending some time behind the wheel of it that week or other times, and/or providing some feedback to the development team, etc.

If this was his first time, right in front of NSXPO attendees, then how cool was that to watch & experience. It's so cool when something unique like that happens at an XPO that really can't be recreated at future ones.

Yes, it was really cool! Made the trip worthwhile!

Hi Steve...Yes he's been around Acura for a long time - have a circa 1996 Realtime poster he signed....he could be a little biased?

Thanks for posting!
It is the best drive report I have read so far. Done by someone who knows the previous version very well, can actually drive a car (unlike some motoring journalists) and was the first "civilian" to get a go. Having Ted give him the brief on the car would have been very helpful.

Sorry I missed seeing it in action but definately will be at next NSXPO.
