Passenger winshield wiper does not work

My passenger winshield wiper does not work. The driver side works just fine. Do these use separate motors for each side? or just one motor? What could be wrong? pls. share your thoughts. thanks

If so, you'll need a fairly deep 17 mm socket to tighten it.

There is only one motor. This has to be the issue described about a loose cap nut for that wiper arm, or else the mechanism for that arm has some problem. IN the service manual you can see how to get to this from under the hood, by removing the plastic "vent shield", the one with the plugs for the shock tower that spans the width of the body.

Tie two shoe strings to the broken wiper. Feed one through the driver window and one through the passengers window. Have a passenger pull with the left hand then with the right hand and repeat. You now have ghetto wipers.
