Passenger side window only goes down 1/4 in.

I removed the passenger side door panel off to swap side view mirrors. While the panel was off, I cleaned and lubed the window tracks. After putting everything back together, I tried to roll the window down and it only goes 1/4 . I sounds like it may be hitting something?? Did I lube the wrong areas? I did clean and lube both sides of the track and also the middle track next to the cables.

Window goes only 1/4 down. It does go all the way back up. Tried it a couple of times and no luck making the window go all the way down. Keep in mind, prior to this project, the window working 100% with no problem. Good advise: If the sh-t ain't broke, don't fix it.

Any feedback or recommendations? "Search" was not my friend on this problem.

Remove the inside upper plastic trim along the top of the door. The long piece that runs on the top of the door. Look at the service manual about tips to remove it without breaking it.

This will give you a better view of what the window is hitting on the way down.

Do you have bose speaker/amp or aftermarket? If it is aftermarket, it might be hitting the speaker.

There is a number of possiblities that might be happening.

Take off the panels again, and take a closer look.

Did you put the clip for the side mirror wire harness back on correctly? There is clip with a screw mount where you attach the mirror wire harness. The clip keeps the wires from getting in the way.

Yeah, good idea. I'll check the side view mirror wiring clips. I may have missed it. I think I just have it connected it, but not properly clipped on the side panel. I'm almost 75% sure that's the cause.

The car is 93 with 88K miles. The window was working just fine, fast and smooth prior to removing the panels and changing the side mirrors. Don't think it's a regulator problem. The white plastic thingy was in good condition still. The speakers are all stock and did not remove anything except for the side view mirrors.

It most likely is the wiring harness for the mirror. Ask me how I know:D:D:D
