Parking brake weak?

I noticed recently that the parking brake will not hold my 97 NSX on a modest hill. My 1997 has HPS Hawk Pro pads with < 10K miles on them. The hand brake lever still engages at a good point in the rotation - so I don't think the cable is the problem. The brakes are otherwise "normal."

What should I be looking at when I take a look?

There is an adjustment under the center consule/dash for the parking brake. See manual attachment.

your e-brake should engage at like 4-5 clicks, anything after that means your e-brake would be useless in an E-mergency LOL. just take the cover off inside the center console and you will see 1 10mm bolt turn it till it tighens the brake.

Was your e-brake ok, before the brake pads were changed?
If so then the adjustment shouldn't be done in the car but at the rear wheels. With the e-brake adjustment nut loose, pump the brakes so that the rear e-brake auto adjusts. See page 19-5 of the service manual. (above) From that point you can re-adjust the nut inside the car.
