Okay now i have a problem i downloaded painshop pro 3 free trial. So i notice this version sucks. I delete it and what happens. Now i can't open any of the jpeg pics cause i don't have paint shop pro.

So does anyone have an easy fix or i'm i fugded.

You just have to change the association for whatever associations were affected (.bmp, .jpg, .tif, .gif, .png etc...) back to whatever program you prefer to use that is still on the computer.

I don't know what OS you ar using, but usually the process goes something like this for each associated extension:
1. shift-right click on the file
2. go to "open with"
3. pick the program you want to use (MSpaint or whatever)
4. check the "always open with this program" box
5. repeat for other affected extentions

There are other ways to do it, but this is one fix to get your computer back to the way it was.

Cheers,
Mark

The problem is that all my pics are like this so i can't find them all since they are scattered in there.

I tried to fix it and no fix yet. The thing to is that this computer didn't come with a backup disk that i could use to reboot to its standard form. I'm thinking of downloading painshop pro 7 though.

Tell me what i should do.

without knowing which windows edition you have, it might be slightly different to direct you exactly: however, you need to open the windows explorer then click on help menu & search for "file association" - that should direct you on how to change each of your desired file extension types to open with the program you want.
You could also click on tools menu then folder options then the "file types" tab & associate each type of file (i.e. jpg, bmp. tif etc) with the program you wich to open it with. (In XP the folder options link is available directly from the "control panel" - don't remember if its there on other windows versions.)
Hope this helps - if in doubt use the help index!

You have to change the file associations. There are several ways to do this:

1. As I decribed. You don't have to do this for each file, just for each file TYPE. So, once you've done a jpg you've them all. Then .gif, etc.
2. As D'Ecosse suggests suggests modifying them. You can change them all at one time, but I don't know what version of windows you have, its sometimes to find, harder to explain etc..
3. As you suggest, download a new program (freeware this time) that will change the file associations for you when you install it.

Any of the three will work, and all have thier pluses and minuses. Good luck with it!

Sorry dude... i should have been more specific. PSP3 is prehistoric. Download Paint Shop Pro v7.0 from here and install that.
This will prompt you what filetypes should be associated to PaintShop Pro (so you can open photos again)

If you have further problems, you really need to tell us what version of Windows you have.
To do this, Click on START, then RUN. A little dialog box will appear. Type in COMMAND and click OK. In the black box that appears, simply type VER and press the ENTER key. It will tell you what version of Windows you have. Post us what it says.

No, no problems just telling you what my version is.

You did say tell me to tell you what it says
