Has anyone ever painted/coated the valve covers (for example from red to pearl yellow)?
How about the body of a Comptech supercharger (for example from black to pearl yellow)?
If so how and by whom? Does it stand up to heat? Did it last? Was it worth it?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had the valve covers on my '91 powder coated bright red and I love them. Good powder coating is extremely durable.

You could do the same with the supercharger, but it would be a pain to disassemble and re-assemble the blower section. You might contact Whipple and see if one of their techs would do it for you. Art Whipple is (and has been since I was a child) really into hot rods, so they should be simpathetic to your needs.

A lot of places do powder coating, but the quality varies greatly. I actually had mine done twice, at two different places, before I was happy. Ask a hot rod or muscle car shop who does good powder coating and they can probably point you in the right direction. You may also get hooked up at a rice racer shop. A lot of the import modifications include powder coating now; just avoid anyone who does it at home. The home kits are too small for your valve covers and are not the quality you will want.
