Can I do it myself? I recall a link on NSX Prime that showed how to do it yourself. Can anyone point me to that link again. Also how easy is it? Any pro's or con's?
Thanks,
Ed

I had good results with a very easy method:
1) Take off wheels
2) Carefully clean the calipers with brake cleaner (may want to tape off lines)
3) Buy a can a spray caliper paint
4) Spray some of the paint into a small cup/jar
5) Hand paint with a small brush
6) Apply a couple coats

The only headache was tring to cover/keep away from the brake lines when cleaning.

Opps. I just read the complete faq and someone else had already suggested doing it that way.

Can you guys post your calipers so I can see how good it looks up close and far away? Anyone have a Red NSX painted with Red calipers?

Ed

I painted mine black so there isn't much to see. I actually wanted them to disappear, not stand out. The original silver/gray always looked dirty to me.

armando, if the dali kit is so good, how come you had your's powdercoated in broward? btw, how is it holding up. the pics looked fantastic.

He said he wanted to do it himself. And mine are holding up perfect. They are exactly the same as the day I put them on, no chips or fading.

I'm not sure if the above Dali link is an epoxy based or not. I think it is. I would recommend an epoxy based paint. That means paint with a hardener so it cures, not dries. I did mine in black and used red to paint the letters "NSX". If your car is Red and you want to paint the calipers Red, I think that would look nice. Some people then file the paint off the letters so it says NSX in silver color, I would suggest getting some black as well and painting the NSX letters black. I bought my paint from a mail order catalog, but I can't recall the name. I paid more than the $39 Dali price, I think it was $45 per kit that I paid.

Good Luck

BTW, it was very easy to do.

I'm going to paint mine WHITE!!!! j/k
I was thinking about black with red NSX lettering. I plain on doing this when I get my new mesh wheels in about 2 weeks. My cars blk/ivory.

I painted mine red with the kit and can tell you it looks just OK - but no where near as good as powdercoating. If you do them black - that would probably be best as the brake dust wont ruin them over time. I was going for the powerder coated look and ended up with a hand painted look but the powdercoating increased the install cost and paint costs significantly.

good luck
