I've got a bl/bl nsx and was thinking about painting the calipers red. Does anyone have a good picture of a black nsx with its calipers painted red? I would like to see some pics before I commit to painting them.

Paul- go for it! youll like it...that is my rim shot in the first pic, although I would rather trade for the SOS brake kit in the 2nd pic!!

You can just use high temp. engine paint and some testors paint for the lettering..

I've done three cars so far first I do all of the exposed rusty crap on the rotors (after wire wheeling them)
Then I mask it off (long and tedious "but worth it")and shoot the caliper red 5-6 times. And use a portable heater to speed the process.
The 1st time it took 9 hrs.
second time 8 hrs
third time 7 hrs (w/ a friend)
Bear in mind thats if your your being a perfectionist.
In my eyes its time well spent as well as fun
I go in the garage ,crank the radio (Ozzy or similar)and just plug away at it.

Just FYI, I would have the calipers powder coated. I've been there done that w/ the high temp paint/Folia Tec. You just can't beat the smooth finish of the powder coating. It's easier to clean and finish is nicer. The drawback is that the calipers have to be removed, rebuilt and cost more $$ (expect about $100-$125 for all 4 including brackets). It may be a good idea if u have over 75k miles anyway. I think it's WELL worth it.

PM me @ [email protected] if u need tips w/ the powdercoat route.

Is there such a thing a clear powdercoat? I am thinking of having my calipers polished then clearcoated. Anyone know whether, when polished, the calipers will be bright & silvery or just a shiny gray metal color?

I wonder if you can get some brush paint from like a hobby shop or something and do it. Would it look like crap though?

You need to use engine or caliper paint due to the high temps the rotor reach. I bought a can of caliper spray paint (I didn't want the mess of the paints you need to mix your self) and sprayed it into a jar so I could brush it on.
