Okay...yesterday a lady backed into my NSX in her RDX in front of where I was having my smog check done. It was a good thing she had a University of Colorado (my alma mater) tailgate or I may have completely lost it...NSXPO with a scraped up ass...not good. The mechanic parked it in front of the shop across from some parking spots...like an IDIOT. The ASS at the counter (this guy really sucked) took forever to do my paperwork so...a lady backing out of one of the spots hit the NSX, scraping the bumper and a small amount of the rear fender near the light. Luckily there was no structural damage. I took pics so I'll post them later. But for now, I need to know who down here car RELIABLY paint Spa Yellow Pearl. I've heard it's a really hard color to match and I want it done right. You advice is appreciated!!!

PS. You may save a few dollars taking it to a cheap place to get your smog check done, but dealing with IDIOTS and HORSES ASSES can make it very expensive in the long run.

Art,

Sorry to hear about the mishap. Let me know who the smog check place is, so I can be sure to avoid it.

As for repainting, I can't say that they'll match Spa Yellow, but Westcoast Specialties Inc. off of Miramar Road did work on my car, and I'd suggest giving them a try. They must be doing something right, being that they pretty much work on Porsches, Rovers, BMWs, and MBs. If you're trying to get your car done before NSXPO, I wouldn't bet on it though. They'll probably take at least a week.

In my experience with Spa Yellow Honda S2K's matching the paint (esp. on areas like bumpers) can be very difficult.

I have not used him but a lot of the guys on Ferrarichat swear by him. He's also apparently pretty popular with the American classic hot rod/corvette crowd and Shane at Autowave recommended me to him when I was trying to decide what to do about the damn rock chips I took one month after buying my car (I feel your pain).

The company is Lanzini Body Works. He's a few blocks away from Autowave at:
17901 Sampson Lane
HB, CA 92647
714-375-2828

The owner is Mitch Lanzini.

Good luck and sorry about your misfortune.

Got quotes so far from Amato's (where Hoehn's Imola Orange Pearl was repainted) and Westcoast Specialties (recommended by Miramar Porsche and FuryNSX). Amato's will only do it because the guy likes Yellow Pearl NSX's , but stressed it's a VERY DIFFICULT color to match. Apparently Hoehn's car took something like 40 hours to match perfect, but they're the rumored to be the best. I'll keep everyone posted.

PS. Keep the recommendations coming!!!

I had inquired about Amato's when I needed the work done, but was told they don't like to do aftermarket body parts. And as Blue Batmobile notes, I also heard that they can be pricey. But heck, if they can guarantee that they'll match your yellow.......:)
