SoCal is definitely a different world and Newport Beach and the Beverly Hills area is a different world within a different world.
A few months ago, I was at the Crystal Cove shopping center in Newport Beach meeting up with some other Ferrari owners for breakfast (this was after the car meet had moved to PAG). There were a dozen of us just hanging out. An F40 was already parked at Starbucks when we got there... he didn't know about our little breakfast deal, he was just getting some coffee.
While we're eating breakfast, different cars came and went including a new 599, two Murcielagos, and a CGT. Again, these weren't people coming in a group or coming to join our group, they were just individuals that came and went at different times to the shopping center.
I remember thinking to myself: this isn't the real world.
