OZ Superleggera Questions

I had intended to buy OZ Superleggeras and had called up Tire Rack before selling to be sure that once the wheels were sold I could buy the new SLs. After selling I called Tire Rack up again and upon going over the order one last time found out that the offsets (17x8 48mm & 18x9 55mm) contradicted what I had previously read I needed (17x8 48mm & 18x9 35mm). On OZ’s website I went through the wheel fitment section and specified NSX, it agreed that the NSX needed a 35mm rear offset so I decided to wait and see what to do. I now have the car sitting in the garage up on blocks. The only other dealer I know carries these wheels (aftermarket.com) said they would be out until their January shipment.

I have several questions.
Does anyone else know of another OZ Racing dealer?
Is an alignment needed because I will be going from 225/40-16 & 265/40-17 to 215/40-17 & 265/35-18?
If I purchase tyres and wheels separate (ie not from Tire Rack) where is a good place in the San Francisco Bay Area to have the mounting done (previous place messed up the wheels)?
To Bonez (or anyone else that has gone this route): Did you purchase your wheels & tyres from Tire Rack or some place else? Is the following information correct?

You should take a look at the forums at s2000 international they have a section devoted to just wheels and the oz super leg also fits the s2k you may get other dealer options.I'm no expert but 35 offset for the rear sounds low.

Go see Steve or Orlando at Auto Innovations in Milpitas. (408)956-8004. They have been around for over 10 years and they specialize in mounting and dismounting high end wheels. They are the only guys in the Bay Area that I bring my Volk's too as well as all my other wheels. They also have a Hunter laser 4 wheel alignment rack. I had them do an alignment right after they lowered my 92 NSX. It has been great because my tires are wearing rather evenly and the handling is superb. Tell them that Sidney referred you and maybe they will give you a discount. Good luck.

I'm curious. Is the ABS system compromised when you change to a larger wheel even if you keep the overall diameter the same?

No, nor is TCS as long as the outter diameter is the same.

Well, I don't remember whether or not the rear offset is 55mm or 35mm, but I bought the OZ superleggerras from Tirerack, and they work fine. No alignment needed. I went from stock 16/17 to 225/40-17 and 255/35-18. I do remember checking the offsets at the oz site, and then asking the tirerack rep about it, and he said that the wheels would fit no problem. I just needed the centering ring for the fronts. Once again, I don't remember whether or not I got 55mm or 35mm offsets in the rear. Sorry...

btw, the rep who sold me the wheels was Dexter at ext. 207

Good luck
