I've got relatives who were in the towers that collapsed in Islamabad. Most of them made it out, but we still haven't heard back from my mother-in-law's cousin. We're fearing the worst, but they're still digging survivors out so we're praying that she makes it out alive.
It's a pretty bad situation over there, especially in the remote areas where entire villages have been wiped out. I see the US has pledged $100k, but what would be a LOT more useful would be temporarily diverting their efforts in nearby afghanistan and sending over some helicopters to help out in the rescue effort. There are a lot of areas that rescuers cant reach by ground due to the massive landslides.
