Paul Mumford was the greatest man I have ever met in this community. When our trailer rolled off the road at OTC last year, Paul was the first to stop, took his Viper out and reloaded his trailer to make room for us to be taken to Vegas for Day 7, so we could compete against him. We would have spent the night in the ditch without him.
Paul was killed in a private plane crash today.
What a huge loss for us all.

My prayers to him and his family.

Paul Mumford

I'm in shock! I have never personally met Paul but he was an inspiration to all sports car enthusiast that tracked their cars. He will be remembered for his fierce competition and a talented driver. He was one of the ppl I had always wanted to meet at the tracks. My sincere condolances goes to his family. He will truely be missed.

:(

This is so sad. Even though I always want an NSX to be in there near the top (GO ROB:D), Mumford was a real icon of those who like to drive hard on the track and take it to the next level with a car that each one of us would like to drive ourselves someday. I am truly saddened by this.

OMG!!!!

I can't believe this. Just 2wks ago, he won the Speedvision GT race.

This is really, really sad news.:( :(

Terrible news - and so young? I have only heard his name and had never met him personally - but an icon none the less.

On a side note - the Piper Saratoga plane he was flying is supposedly one of the safest of the small single engine planes. So sad...

Prayers to him and his loved ones. God speed.

By all accounts, Paul was a first class guy. He lived life doing what he enjoyed. May we all learn from his example.

May God's grace speed him on to his reward.

Sad news... i saw the news report on tv earlier today but didnt know it was him.

Condolences to the family.

For some reason, I still cannot believe this. I don't even know the guy and I still feel like somone just hit me in the chest.

One of my best track buddies and I followed his progress almost religiously and talked about him weekly. Not just b/c of how well he did but b/c it proved that you could still be a good guy and excel in whatever chosen pursuit. He was an inspiration to even those who didn't know him.

Godspeed Mr. Mumford. And God bless your family, who must have been so proud of you, in this tragic loss.

I only know of Paul Mumford from what I have seen recently on Speed and read about him on sites like this. It is very sad to hear of the death of such a young sportsman.
