I know that we all have made a list of New Years Resolutions - most of which that we will blow off in the first week of the year (hey, that's happened already!) - but one that you should not is the one you made about attending more track events in 2006 - right? you DID make that resolution - RIGHT? If not, there is still time to save your reputation as a Real Man who uses VP-110 as a cologne.

As some of you might remember, (the fortunate ones that went to our last event on 12/3/05) the new section of the Spring Mountain Motorsports Park track has some interesting wiggles, dips and bumps in it. I think I need a little more practice there, and since the full course we had last time is booked until the middle of June (think Death Valley Days) I thought we all might deserve a little tour of the spring desert sunshine and flowers and booked just the new section for April 15th. It should be perfect weather:

Plus, It's a perfect time and place to spend your Tax refund!

THE COURSE:

We just have 1 short stretch to pass in over there on the back straight, (the left side of the picture above) so I'm keeping this event limited to a smaller number of cars (28-30) and just two run groups. I'm hoping that we can fill it up with just NSXies but If I can't get enough of you out there to cover the tab then I will let other HONDA-ACURA cars in like S2000 and ITR etc. in so if you don't want to get passed by some little piece of shit CRX like I was last time, (yeah - yeah I know it was a "profiled in a magazine full race car" - so what? it was still a CRX) lets fill it up and do what we can to preserve what is left of our fragile egos.

So - to borrow phrase from the Democrats; Vote (sign up) early and often!

The event info page will be edited this weekend whenever I can get the webguys out of bed, as always full info will be posted there:

http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/info/events/track_11_15_01/index.cfm

Hope we can have an ALL NSX ALL THE TIME event - we will only take 28 cars this time.

I'm so there!

Although I love the new full track, I'd be OK just driving the new section. I'll miss the section from turn 2 to 4R though (center of the pic above). Got chopped in half. This will be a very small config.(1 mile may be?)

The surface of this brand new section is nice and smooth. Since there is no walls to worry about, it is almost like a big autocross course. It is probably good for the first timers.

I hope enough people will find time to fill the 28 slots. Previouse events have reached 12+ NSXs.

Mark, may be if you arrange to have some instructors during the event, you may find more newbies.

If you like canyon drives, track driving is a whole new level of enjoying your car in a safer environment. No oncoming traffic, and no one on the phone or putting on makeup.

The section we have for this event is 1.5 miles. I like the full track too, however:
1) it is not available until the fall
2) it costs 3X as much to rent
3) I'd prefer a smaller number of cars

as long as they don't think they are Super Mario. Remember the camber on the back half?

We have 8 NSX's signed up already, (9 with you) but I'm sure that you are right, most owners won't sign up regardless of the deal so we will end up with a gaggle of ITRs and CRX's looking to pass us in all the turns. (sigh)

This is more of an arrive and drive event, it IS NOT a school.

unless Heidi is out there.....

Smaller number of cars is always good.

Yes, 4R is an off-camber turn after the long sweeper after turn 2. You really have to bring the speed down from 100+ to make that turn.

BTW, my name is already on the list. I'm "Silver LA NSX" on your list. Last time I was "Pantzoiled" NSX. I almost managed to do that while riding in Mr. Weinberg's Lotus Elise.

hehe! Heidi does tend to come fully dolled up. It's amazing that she manages to beat most guys on the track while checking herself out in the mirror.

Amazing?!?! I think not. I could probably beat most of the guys on the track driving with my eyes close...they don't make it very hard to do...

I have signed up both myself and Paul! Paypal should be sending Mark his payment within minutes.

Mark, is Blondie coming this time?

We are just being "polite"

Thanks - you guys make 10 players, 18 more to go. Blondie might be staying home - unclear at this time.

Dude,

Can't make it this time. I'm taking my family somewhere for the Spring Break. I won't make it in time to join the fun in SM. Tino said he will go, hopefully with John.

What, taking another MEGA Crui$e to the Riviera the launder a few $100K? besides, you don't have an NSX anymore, and I know the Lambo won't make it that far out of the garage.

We WERE trying to make this a NSX only event, but I guess having an S2000 or 2 at the event won't kill me.

Few $100k? You're underestimating me. My printing machine was newly refurbished so I had it working over time.

You just don't want to get passed by a big silver sedan.

Good to know that you can make it Mark. It is $160. Not a bad price with only 28 cars.

not bad at all:biggrin:

btw chris, are you gonna join us on the O/P Run??? It's FREE and It'd be nice to see another silver one there:cool: ....... and you too:tongue:

Not sure at this point. But if I go, I'd probably just head out to Lake Elsinore and back. Mornings are OK, but I want to save my hall passes for track events.

I'd like to think of it as the sound of the turbo BOV than a whip. Toying around the idea of getting a STi or EVO so that I can retire my NSX as a garage queen again.

Edit: Just went to your O/P run thread and realized that it is on 2/4. I have a Streets of Willow track event the day before (friday 2/3). Don't think I want to get up the next morning for the canyon run.

Check this out, this is a 25 car, all you can eat, event. So if I want to, I can have 8 hours of track time ... that is if my car can hold up for that long on the track.

Sorry for the off topic, Mark!

I am behind on my prime reading, didn't see this thread til now. Please put me down on the list. Seeing the picture of the silver car in the sand on your website reminds me of my last outing there.

"Sandblast"One.

Tino is going to bring his Gallardo? I want to see that car run in this tight course.

I may sound like a broken record, but this small course with no walls is perfect for people that want to test their skills and expore their cars' capability. I definitely would love to see more NSXs there.

Anyone have even stayed at the Saddle West Casino that was suggested by Mark? I like the Best Western there, but if it is cheaper....
