The drift king.

You're never on the edge until you've driven past it. I say Tsuchiya was doing his job

Well, that's looks very much like the dreaded snap-oversteer on correction.

Hmm, I have seen (and unfortunately experienced) exactly the same

But I must admit that even when spinning Tsuchiya makes it look very smoooth...

He was lucky it was snow .... if was just dirt, his car could dig into .. causing a mess .. in the same time, on the dry I am sure he was not going to lose the car that way ...

Question:

I have been repeating the sequence over and over again.
And I am STILL not sure what is causing his NSX to spin out.

You can see that his right front wheel humps over the curbstones just before he spins. However, it doesn't make me understand exactly WHY his car starts spinning ???

As you've mentioned, indeed he hits that curb, then gets one wheel in the air, then I think after that he panics for a split of a second -this is one of the best drivers in the world, yet, the car is HIS, and is rare- then he tries to correct again, and it happens ....

He was hot going to turn left after that ... everything was too fast .. and maybe the road was not fully dry ...

Is good to see things like this, makes me understand the NSX a bit better ...

Maybe because it is too cold to be driving like that. Check out the snow on the ground. There could have been a patch of black ice we can't see.

looks like his tow hook cover comes off, that always happens to me lol. I've been through like a half dozen.:biggrin:
