Orlando-area NSX'ers, help in recommending neighborhood

For my Orlando-area brethren, I have a childhood friend who is looking to relocate in about a year to the Orlando area. Her daughter is a whiz at art and animation and will be attending school at or near Universal.

They are planning to relocate. They are looking for something a reasonable distance from the school and obviously would like a nice home in a nice neighborhood. They are constrained, though, and are looking in the $100k range. If the Orlando area is anything like where I am in South Florida, finding something suitable might be a challenge. That's where you come in.

They will be doing some exploratory trips in the next year, so if you can recommend neighborhoods that meet these requirements for them to explore it would be most appreciated. I've asked a few of you in the past but now we're within that magic one year time horizon so they're much more eager to dive into this project.

I don't know what they consider a reasonable distance to commute to the school, but please make some suggestions and I'll have her and her husband monitor this thread.

Thanks much.

Best Bet... buy clost to a highway . If you have quick access to any of the major highways EVERYTHING is 30mins away or less.

In regards to the universal area unless they are looking for condos, town homes, apartments, they may indeed have a challenge with that 100k mark and the "nice" neighborhood part for a house.

Feel free to email or pm if ya have any questions, best of luck to em, i think Orlando is a GREAT place to be, constantly growing and not too far from tampa, daytona, miami even  ...x

Agree completely. Around Universal is very touristy and higher priced unless Townhouse or Condo, etc. Forget Bay Hill or Windermere.

Area not too far away by highway and best bang for your buck is still Clermont.

Areas to totally avoid are Crime/Pine Hills, Around 441 (S. Orange Blossom Trail) , Kissimmee (far too many tourists)

Good Luck!

I grew up in crime/pine hills and didnt turn out too bad  but yea wouldnt advise lol. I second all of the above info  and would like to add for consideration some areas in avalon (east orlando) qualify for heavy discounts when looking for loan/financing...x
