I doubt you will find many here looking to take the bait and troll on Maxima.org
I will say the most interesting aspect of their discussion is the number of posters that felt it was unfair to compare the expensive NSX to the more entry level 350z. Had the intial poster's review favored the Z, I don't know that the thread would have had as many people complaining that the comparison was apples to oranges.
Another point missed in the thread is that the price of the used 92 NSX they drove is equal to or less than the new cost of a Z or S2K. I shopped both before I bought my 93.
Beyond that, it is actually one of the more restrained and mature discussions of an NSX vs. ** on a non-NSX forum. There are few car-related topics that are as polarizing as NSX vs. ** for non-NSX forums.
This forum's demographics are such that such comparisons usually involve personal experience from people who have owned or do own examples of both cars and appreciate the merits of different marques.
7 hours.! We normally dont even let people test drive even with a sales rep in the car.... If given a few customers hot laps in mine
The most interesting thing I've noticed is there are pages of bench-racers going on peak torque numbers, but no one seems to have mentioned area under the curve, and no one mentions gearing. A final drive of 5:1 instead of 2.5:1 would double the torque to the wheels in any given car; they seem to miss the concept of gearing.
Actually, very few comments on the NSX as you read through it; it becomes an S2000 bash in short order. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
