Hi all, Got another topic, found a 2000 Red/Tan w/63K miles and a $44K offer. What do you all think, and I'm estimating a $900/mo plus a $400 insurance. (Got 6 points on my ins, about to be 3).

Thanks all

Chris from Tacoma.

For what it is worth, I paid $41K for mine with 72K on the odometer just two months back and she is a 2000. Not sure if it was a good deal or not but I loved the car and it was very clean & very well cared for (Plus it was local so if I paid a bit more than average it was worth it to check it out and drive it before I had to buy a plane ticket anwhere)

Velveeta
I did not see any pics of the car on Autotrader. Any info on condition, service records, carfax, etc.
This car is well priced. Then again... it depends on many different factors.
I would investigate a bit more before flying to FL.
Just my $0.02

Good luck

That would be a GREAT drive

I have done it twice from FL back to TX but to WA, WOW!

I can tell you this, I am 6.1 and I did a trip from TX to PA and back and the NSX is a very comfortable drive on the road. Just make sure the car is ready for the trip

Re: Opinions!! $44K for 63K miles Red/Tan 2000

 Oh...Sorry forgot the pics. I'll post them here. The only thing about the car that I'd be sacrificing is that I would prefer a black interior, but I suppose I can get that fixed. I'll have to call the guy tomorrow about the right VIN# on autotrader.com, look under 2000 models, in any distance. Located in Plantation FL. Of course my search comes from the 98408 zip...hehe

 Grrr, can only show five... i'll re-post again see if I can show more....

Have u checked out the 2002 silver for 48K on autotrader..seems like a better deal..

I think that is a fair price for that car. Assuming its really in the condition it looks to be in.
I had a 92 and just traded up to a 2002. I was searching for a 2000-2005 Red with black interior. I think if you look through the archives here (aka wiki) you will see there really were not all that many red/blacks made in the later years. I had to settle for the Red/camel combination myself. And don't regret it at all. Don't let a good car/deal get away from you.

As for the drive.
Its a blast, but really check out the options. Thats a heck of a haul.
You probably won't put that many miles on it all next year.
Check other stories. You'll see the air cost to get to FL, a few hotels on the trip. of course a few tanks of gas, meals. etc etc. The expenses really do add up.
I've don't it twice myself, but came really close to shipping this last one.
I think in your case you are cheaper to ship.
You don't get the experience, which is great, but figure time away from home/work and...well its a long long drive.

WIth the Canadian dollar=usd$ now, these prices are a steal! I think my '98 is worth just over up here in Vancouver, so you guys down there have it good with more to choose from and greatly priced in my mind(given it's mint condition). If my '98 wasn't in the shop still getting converted, I'd head south and pick up a later model i'm sure.

It could just be the lighting but the passenger side head light color looks off (lighter) in some of the pictures. Get the story incase there was a repaint. Red is very dificult to match. Not a deal breaker but could work in your favor in negotiating. Panels look perfectly aligned so there may never have been an accident.

Nice car though. Good luck. Do the drive, the excitement of a new car and getting to know it will be a great experience. It'll go by faster than you think.

Regards,

Tytus
