When you are on a web page and you click on a link, does it annoy you when the link opens in a new browser window? TIA

Depends. If it's going to an unrelated page, I prefer it open a new window/tab.

I hate it more when say I get a link sent to me through AIM and I click on it and it opens in an existing window. Then I have to go back, then copy and paste it so now it's in my URL history and all this nonsense haha.

Nothing beats my problem. When you search on google and get it to go to some weird shopping site. Happens all the time with IE...now using Firefox

firefox has a great option to either open clicked links in either a new window or new tab in an existing window.

Love it!

I have used maybe 3 different removers...still nothing. I am going to run Adware right before I sleep.

buy a mac.

unnecessary new browsers can be annoying.

I work with tabs in Safari, by holding CMD as I click, so I usualy don't have to worry. When I do webpages and such, there is reasoning that goes into new browsers in links... mainly so that by giving the user another place to look for more information, you're not kicking them off your own webpage.

One feature in Safari that I absolutely love is it tells you (on the status bar at the bottom of the window) if a new window is going to open or not when you hover over the link.

If it's not going to open a new window (or if it is for that matter), I can middle-click and open it into a new tab if I want. I like that a lot.

I believe most browsers will do that if you open the bar on whatever browser you use, even the dreaded IE+Windows package.

but yes, nice feature ;)

Try Avant Browser. Its free to download. It has a pop-up blocker and you can have multiple pages open at one time. The opened web pages will have folder tabs on the bottom of the browser. So in other words, you can be on multiple webpages but only one browser. I haven't used IE since

That sometimes happens if some idiot has bought a domain name and deliberately set it up to be picked up on search hits; often in the hopes of selling the domain name.
