[OT Challenge]

Hi Everyone -

I just wanted to drop in here really quickly to let you know about our event, The Open Track Challenge. Does 7 of the best tracks on the West Coast in 7 days sound like fun? How about full day time trials at each site using the Formula One qualifying format? There are classes for trailered cars and cars that drive the entire competitive route. And, at the end of the week, a big party and awards banquet at one of the casino-hotels on Vegas's Strip. Yup, Carbotech set up an extremely generous contingency program for those that use their products during OTC.

Lud, there are two other NSX teams committed. They are from SoCal, I believe.

The NSX community should be excited to hear that Comptech is stepping up to the plate in a major way. You can read about it in Hayashi's last chapter at www.nsxfiles.com or wait until tomorrow or so when I post the details to OTC.com.

Don't wait too long to sign up. The price increase kicks in at New Years and our bit in Grassroots Motorsports hits the newsstands soon. Hope to see you there!

It's not a secret, as far as I know. It's just not my policy to give out names or confirm suggestions unless I see participants admit to such involvement with OTC. There are lots of guys trying to "sneak into winning" by keeping their projects quiet now and we also have a bunch who just reserved spots in the event who won't announce what they are bringing until May 1, 2002. Some of these covert attempts to attain some mythical domination on the field are just hilarious.

Mike Wann and I are entering the OTC, but not in the NSX. We are driving a Mica Blue '90 Miata.

Likewise, Eddie Lee and I have sent in our OTC registration. We'll be driving a 94 Miata-R (the NSX will be at home...)

I was planning to join in the fun. However, due to some personal reason, looks like I won't be able to make it. However, from now and then things can change. And I'm hoping I can still make it.

Sorry to hear you may not be joining us, Andrie. Something happened in the karma of NSX owners because they almost unilaterally switched to BMW's or Miatas for OTC. There'll be 2 or 3, but early on it looked like twice that.

I'm still putting my hopes up. However, I will be driving a civic, if I ever make it. NSX is tough for touring cause of the tire limitation. And I want to win, dammit!!

Now all I need is for that Turbo Miata to blow something, and that 250hp Turbo Bug to explode, and then a meteor to hit Eddie and Telly in their Miata, and I *might* have a chance at winning..

The Turbo Miata bugged out and went to Unlimited 4. I think your psychic is actually doing voodoo dolls for you guys!

There's a supercharged SHO in T4 now but I don't know how much you need to worry about that one. You might want to check the Tarot Cards.
