one lucky driver!

Well one MAJOR drawback in the "SAFER" wall engineering. It is supposed to absorb some of the g's, but in this case, it clearly made the car "stick" like glue, and actually tore the car apart. If the car would have hit and slid off of the impact, the car would have stayed together!
 
I think this is an older post and the story is that the car hit where a gate can onen up and he basicly hit the end of a wall where the gate is/was. sudden stop. Jeff
 
Yes, this was caused by an improperly latched gate. The car hit at just the wrong spot, forced the gate open and nailed the end of the wall. Nothing to do with SAFER barriers.

No one noticed this is labeled as a Formula 1 crash? :confused: Or is this Max Mosely's latest cost savings proposal for F1?
