this year it's all over the east coast.

I've been peeking at this and i'm somewhat interested... although I find it interesting that it's a time trial event at EVERY track.. that's like.. crazy...

I thought it would've been a lot cooler if I could just enter drive the places but not be in a competitive state...

Anyone know more about this or ever done one?

thanks,
x

An NSX from Florida competed in One Lap a few years ago. In fact, it was Car and Driver's "Dark Horse" to win the event. IIRC, it suffered some brake problems and did not finish high.

Yes, I have done this. I ran the event in 2003 and had a blast. It was something that I had always wanted to do and figured, hey, you only live once!!

It was probably one of the best times of my life. Imagine spending that many days in a row with a ton of other crazy car people, and driving on some of the best tracks in the country. Not to mention the odd stories you get along the way.

If you want more details, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this amazing event. In the meantime, if you get the chance, DO IT!! Do not try and apply reason to it, just enter the race and have a great time. You will be glad you did.

The one lap of America is a time trial based competition. You also have to have a SVRA license. Entry fee $2100. Good Luck.

SVRA license is easy to get, and $2,100 (while not a small amount) is a very reasonable fee considering the magnitude of this event. I would enter this race again in a heartbeat, and most likely will very soon.
