Does the red cable connect to the negative terminal or the positive terminal???

Red typically connects to the positive terminal. (I hope that was not a trick question)
Yup. And I believe Red has the bigger/fatter terminal post.
Ok, thanks guys, I just need to make sure because I needa take apart my center console and dash for some work and to be safe it is suggested that I disconnect the battery (negative end first) and disable the SRS or airbags...
