I went to my local car show on the weekend, to check out the scene and maybe pick up a hat or memento. I was hoping there would at least be one nsx there, then i saw the nsx weisse club guys (i think they are from nagoya), nice surprise to see so many nsx's and they were a great bunch of people, definately meeting up with them when the car is done. Pity it was so hot, Enjoy!

Man, where were some of these mod'd cars during Fiesta '10?

Nice cars.

The Suzuka blue looks pretty good on the NSX.

The other blue NSX with what looks to be an intercooler in the truck looks like it has a wrx hood scoop on its trunk.

It is an sti scoop, he was surprised i knew what it was, pretty serious machine had a line locker fitted, huge turbo, crazy. Pretty sure the old route ks shop car was there too (yellow one)

Thanks for posting!! I love seeing modded Japanese NSXs. :D

As for the R/C NSX, do you have any info (i.e. scale, brand, removable body, etc.)? It's cool seeing that it's a non-2002+ body for a change.

Thanks,
-Randy

Off the top of my head, I know of at least 3 old school NSX R/C cars.

First one is a 1/10 scale tamiya ready to run that comes with everything assembled(removable body).

Second is your typical 1/10 self build Tamiya similar to the ready to run version.

The last one is also 1/10 scale self build kit made by Yokomo. I have only seen this kit once on ebay over the past 7 years, therefore I bought it.

just did a quick search, here is a tamiya version on ebay now. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Tamiya-...pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item2c5c1406e9

I'm not sure if that car above is the Tamiya NSX. The old school Tamiya NSX had a lexan body that represented the space between the trunk lid and rear spoiler with a dark/black sticker, since it is very difficult (or impossible) to have a lexan mold with top AND bottom surfaces. In the example above, it looks like the rear spoiler is actually lifted off of the trunk lid, giving me the impression that the body is molded in hard plastic.

Also, the Tamiya NSX kit had an R/C F1 chassis underneath, and the old style 15/16 5 spoke wheels were actually depicted with hubcaps that where inserted into the F1 wheels mounted on foam tires.

Still, I could be mistaken.

The pic is of the first one, the 1/10 scale ready to run. I have it and its identical :) Barely play with it anymore, in fact as soon as I saw the pic I went to the basement to dig it out to make sure I had pulled all the batteries out before hey started leaking (luckily no batteries inside :))

When I said, "the first one". I was not referring to the picture. I simply meant the first one, of 3 that I can list off the top of my head. And yes, the tamiya quick drive version is made of a hard plastic body that requires "no building", not the diy lexan.

Thanks for the info Oyagi & bobert486. I guess since that hard plastic Tamiya body is from a while back, it will be either too difficult to find or way expensive. Bummer. :(

Now, back on topic. :)
