A buddy of mine in CALI has an NSX with 50k miles and apparently broke the snap ring. The OEM clutch was replaced with another new OEM kit at 35k miles. So basiclly theres only 15,000 miles & 2.5 years on the NEW OEM CLUTCH KIT.

My question is would it be a good idea just to replace the 2 clutch pads on his 92 or leave the clutch along and fix the snap ring problem with a new case?

Tough choice.
thanks.

I had to take me gearbox off recently, and though my clutch wasn't that old, i just put in a new set off plates, not a whole assembly, just the plates.
Those are not that expensive, and it feels like a complete new clutch when all back together.

List is about $250 ea. They are different, so make sure you order the 1st and 2nd disk.

Just keep in mind that if you look at the flywheel, and you find spots and uneven areas, it doesn't mean the flywheel is bad or needs to be replaced.
Thats how they look after use.

Larry gave you a good figure for the price, i couldn't give you our European prices, coz they are different from the US ones.

Actually, that's how they look after abuse...

Sorry Ken, but i have seen many, many clutches and they ALWAYS have the spots and uneven areas, 'new' or old.
Offcourse which one might call use, the other might call abuse.
I baby my clutch, but still after 'some' (ab?)use it has allrady spots on it.

I only wanted to point out, not to get all wound up when you see a rough area, where you expect it to be all nice and dandy.

I agree that it is not a cause for concern.
