I am a proud owner of a 1998 NSX-T !

It's black with a tan leather interior, 55K, 6 spd, ARC exhaust, cold air intake, CD changer.

And its stunning, in excellent condition, no paint defects, chips or nicks..no seat bolster wear..

Service history is complete, new tires, battery, clutch..

Can hardly wait for spring now!

And I'm going to try to make Gananoque

Lets go summer

Welcome Tim, I'm sure that the car is stunning....Can't wait to see it in the Spring.

As both Stu & Dave indicated, please fill-out the application form on-line, joint the club and register for Est Fest '08.

It's going to be so much fun.

Tim, when are you actually getting the Car?

Bram

Hi Bram

I'll be getting the car next month. I need to return my Mazdaspeed Miata that is taking up the NSX's parking spot and I figured I might as well wait for the 1 % reduction in GST January 1st, its not like I'll be driving it any ways.

Here is a picture taken by the previous owner.

When I imported my NSX about 1 1/2 years ago, I had the car shipped to me and had a customs broker handle some of the paper work. I paid GST base on the date of the bill of sales not the date that the car landed in Canada. Also the date on the bill of sales is the date they use in the currency conversion when I picked up my car.

My 1998 Blk/Camel NSX arrived Thursday on a auto hauler! It was a little dirtier than when I saw it last, in fine shape otherwise except for the front lower valance that was hanging off on the left hand side, a result of grounding out when being loaded onto or off of the carrier, not too serious I can deal with that.

It was a stressful period waiting for a car to show up almost 2 months after its purchase, lots can go wrong, delays at the border, damage when its not in your posession and care.

But its all good now!

Gave the car a tender wipe down in order to install the cover. Now its tucked away in my underground parking spot. Just in time too, because Toronto just got hit with a winter storm which would have made a real mess of it.

GF asked me what I'm going to call it? I've had probably 20 cars so far, lots of them sports cars, Triumphs, MGB, Austin Healy 3000, 260Z, 911T and I've never given any of them names..

What gender would be most appropriate? feminine? she sure is sweet and has nice curves(lol), but is also masculine with the throaty roar from the ARK exhaust. So maybe names don't work...

Max comes to mind, as in Mad Max the Road Warrior, could be Maxine too..

No, probably won't work.

Nonetheless, its comforting to know its tucked away safely in my possession. Now its a matter of getting it inspected, saftied, emission tested and transfered into my name. A task a little more difficult as a result of my insurance company telling me the day it arrived I don't have insurance on it because its unplated and that they'll only allow you 14 days grace from the day you purchase the vehicle to supply them transfered title...

Just another headache to work through, spring and the first ride will make all of those issues seem trivial...

Come on spring!

If you need to you can borrow a Dealer Plate from me so you can drive your NSX to CDN Tire - the dealer plate means you're insured under my garage policy - which means the cops will leave you alone and you're legal.

Use the email link to email me (I'm slow with PMs) if you want.

Tim,

I think we saw each other on Thursday night at the Shell station at Bayview/Sheppard. It was nice chatting with you and the paper work should be straight forward (while the lineup at MTO can be quite stressful). But your car would need RIV so that might take a bit more time. My 93 is fortunate to be exempted from the program.

The insurance is a bit of a pain, with the appraisal, inspection, application, and approval. I am not sure what insurance co. you are going with, but I am using the Silver Wheel plan by Lant Insurance (AVIVA). The only problem is that to qualify, your car must be a collectible of at least 15 years or older. My baby just met that requirement. I don't know if they can make exception for your 98, and you should call them and check. Here is their website http://www.lant-ins.ca/. Your annual premium will be quite a bit cheaper (based on replacement value of appraisal), so I would recommend taking a closer look.

Look forward seeing you with your car

Owen
