Ok guys, as you can see to the left of your screen, I've been following this forum for awhile now. I've been following this forum for even longer than I've been registered! But most of the times, I've kept silent, since I wasn't actually an owner, just a fan. But occasionally, I would post a question or comment.
Now, finally, I no longer have my M3 e36, and I've made a deal on a beautiful 1993 black on black NSX. So Wednesday, I should have it home with me, to join my other toys. :P
Now, I just have a question? What should I look for when taking it to the dealer? I plan on going with my good friend who is a Master Tech for a large BMW dealership here, but also want the Acura Dealership to give it a look over. Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice, thats all!!

Thanks again

I would suggest sticking with someone who services a lot of NSXs. In most cities, that means an Acura dealer, not a BMW dealer. Furthermore, in bigger cities where there are multiple dealers (like the four in Houston or the nine in Chicago), some dealers will do a lot of NSX business while others don't. It is worthwhile to find out who does the most NSX service work in your town and take it there, not just for the inspection, but for all your service needs. If it is some distance away, you might use someone close by for oil changes and brake pad changes, but I would stick to someone with NSXperience for anything else.

Perhaps one of our Houston folks can suggest who does the most NSX service work in town.

P.S. Nice move - you're getting it just in time to bring it to NSXPO 2002, November 6-10 in DFW. It's the most fun you can have with your NSX! Since it moves around the country from year to year, you may as well take advantage when it's close to home.

More information about NSXPO 2002 should be available later this month.

It looks like that this web site has a great used car check list... body work being the most expensive to correct with moving parts the next most expensive. Have the dealership give you a warranty and then all you have to worry about are the wear items. The clutch seems a very expensive item to replace along with the a/c system. Get a warranty it will let you sleep better at night.

Thanks for the info guys!

The car is going to be inspected at an Acura Dealer, not a BMW dealer. My friends is a tech. at a BMW dealership, so he's just coming with me to look it over before I pay the dealership to look it over.

And he wants to ride back in the car with me....can't blame him.

Also, the car is out of state(400 miles away), so none of the dealerships here(Houston) can look it over before the purchase. The clutch was done last year, about 10k miles ago. Man, I can't sleep, Im soooo excited!!!

Just curious, since I was reading thru the FAQ section, does $150 seem high for having an Acura Dealer checkout the car?

FAQ says "..... good idea to have the car checked out by an NSX-certified mechanic at an Acura service center. It'll only cost $60-$80."

Anyone?
TIA

Most thorough inspections around here have been taking two hours, not one, so $150 sounds reasonable.
