Oil Pressure Sensor 37245-PR7-01 vs 37245-PR7-02

Several years back I replaced my OEM Oil Pressure Sensor with aftermarket kit from SoS. But the gauge has stopped giving true readings again. I've checked PSI separately and my oil PSI is normal so I pulled the SoS sensor out and it looks to be faulty.

So I figured I'll go back to OEM. Looking it up at OEM Acura Parts I see the sensor has been replaced by new part no: 37245-PR7-02. But the diagrams they show don't make sense to my eye.

I'm guessing many have done this replacement so looking for confirmation the later part is pretty much the same as original, and is installed in same way. A picture or diagram of 37245-PR7-02 would be great ...!

BTW, it does specifically state it replaces the 37245-PR7-01..... The sensor is located just above the oil filter on the oil cooler bracket assembly. I think you are good to go with the -02

Yes I did see that Larry, but the diagram threw me.
Do you think the -02 diagram showing at OEM Acura Parts is right, or wrong??

If you are refering to the diagram in the link in your post, it is correct.....

Honda/Acura released TSB for faulty -A01 and replaced it with -A02.
Only very early engine had the -A01 from the factory.
You should use -A02 but if you don't drive regularly or if your gauge unit has problem, replacing it won't fix your issue, as you already experienced with the SoS parts.

The link between the parts no. and the diagram is partially broken/wrong.

37245- is what we call the sender unit and it's in the [Spool valve] section.
If you just visit there and don't click on the parts no. or the actual parts inside the diagram, you are fine.

As soon as you click on the parts no. or the actual parts inside the diagram or just search for the parts no. starting with 37245-, then you will be sent to the wrong diagram.

It's actually pointing to the low pressure warning sensor, 37240- in the [Oil cooler, breather pipe] section.

Hi Kaz,

Thanks, now I understand the confusion. It appears alot of the parts catalogs need review:)...

Ah, many thanks Kaz, confusion resolved. I'm now confident I'll be buying the correct part (although it's quite pricey at ~$265).

Yes my NA1 was built in late 1990 (#343) so certainly an early one!

I'll email OEM Acura Parts suggesting they update the diagram. That could mean one less parts catalog error ...

sparky .. I have the SOS unit as well and not long after I installed it, some debris (likely hondabond) found its way into the sensor and clogged it to the point where the gauge was reading no oil pressure. After sucking out the line and the sensor, it worked again so you may want to try that first before purchasing a new OEM unit.

Thanks NSX2398, I suspected I had a Hondabond clog, but I found the top of my SoS sensor has come loose and is leaking a little oil (plus zero reading) :(

Also ... I did order the (expensive!) OEM part this morning ... :(

It's interesting you had a problem with Hondabond. That stuff seems determined to get into places it shouldn't during fitments.
