Oil pan removal on my '94

I've replaced my 60k+ miles '94 with a carefully inspected 15k miles '94. Two questions:
1. The only significant defect found is a dent in the bottom of the engine oil pan. Can the pan be removed/replaced without other dis-assembly. Any 'tricks' to be aware of?
2. The seller was not aware of a remote for locking/unlocking which my previous car has. Should it have had one? If so, can it be replaced?
3. Assuming availability, has anyone had experience installing a 3M 'mask' to the front of the car?
THX!

3M mask will bubble up if water gets behind it its a placebo a rock is still gonna bounce and chip the paint.
oil pan are you ever under the car while your driving?? a dent LOL move on.
remote locking you will need to check under teh footwell of the passengerside if you feel a 4inchX4inch box with a wireharness coing out of it then you would only need remotes for it take the brain out ( the box you found ) and contact Kenwood with the serial number they will send you new remotes at 186 each. if your car does not have this box under the glove box then your car never had unlock lock fuction or the previous owner before the guy you purchased it from removed it.

go drive it

Nice mileage! The oil pan can be removed only by first removing the front bank exhaust downpipe (or complete front header if it's not the stock exhaust). A minor dent is not a big deal as long as it hasn't crushed or damaged the oil pickup tube inside.

Remote entry was an option. Some don't have it, my '94 did not so I installed an aftermarket system that uses a smaller remote with a built in "flip key". It also opens the trunk remotely and flashes the parking lights. I think it's hard to get the oem system for the early NSXs. Others will know or search the threads for "keyless".

The OEM remote has no feedback. If you do have/find/install an OEM remote, PM me and I'll send you my schematics for a single flash from the emergency blinkers when the car is locked/unlocked.

If your exhaust line is stock, you could just remove your front bank intermediate pipe from the header, (beware of rotten bolts that snap also check the flex joint)
First of course drain oil, I've seen that step being forgotten.

Check your strainer and screen just to be sure.
Replace oil pan gasket and install new oil filter, top of with your favorite brand of oil (5w30, 10w30)

Thanks, Shawn. That is something I've not considered although the only exposure I've had to the 3M product has been through observation at an exotic resale dealer. I suppose I'll save the $$ and continue to use the tattered vinyl mask from my previous NSX.

Thanks, Adnan. Although my prior '94 has the Comptech intake and exhaust, this newer one is stock. I'm tempted to trade both systems. If I were to do that, is any tuning modification of the engine required or is it safe to simply switch the two?

Thanks, Frank. Apparently, the car had no remote system when built. I have a Viper 3203 system from another car. Any thoughts on having that installed?

Thanks for the oil pan advice. Good stuff.
Mine does not have the remote entry option. I have a Viper 3203 off another car. Any thoughts on installing that?

You can just swap headers and intake, you'll notice a immediate improvement.

I know of people who have had Viper systems work well on an NSX. However, I've also gone through diagnosing ground problems with people who have had aftermarket alarm systems installed. Be sure to emphasize the NSX is aluminum, and ask them to use anti-corrosion electrical paste on any ground connection bolts they loosen in order to slip the Viper ground leads under the OEM ground connections.

mine has a viper alarm on it. i love it, and so many upgrades available for it.

When I see a dented oil pan it is typically due to a timing belt service where someone lifted the engine to tilt it with a floor jack that had no protection plate, and the oil pan dents from the floor jack cup:). As stated on a stock exhaust this is not too bad a job to remove the pan, hint: Use a lot of PBBlaster on the exhaust hardware. Also at the mileage you describe most of the hardware should make it OK. I always keep a few cat studs/nuts in stock, just in case;).

HTH,
