Oil pan leak

Last spring we changed the pan gasket and cured the leak from above, that had kind of obscured the lower leak. At that time we used a new crush washer and torqued the drain plug to spec. I figure the fitting that the drain plug screws into must have a crack between it and the rest of the pan. I checked the pan with a magnet and it's steel, so that part of my original question is answered. My Porsche never leaked oil like this. Howard

I doubt you'll have a hard time fixing your leak.
Try a new plug washer like was recommended above.

If that doens't work, drain the oil and get a good look as to why. Its a simple pressure seal. Is something cracked?

Are the threads (well) intact and/or show no signs of damage or sripping? Are you sure it's coming from the drain plug and not dripping from the gasket by the drain plug...?

If it's the threads in the oil pan, you got trouble, but it can be fixed, need to create a new, smaller hole, or drill a wider hole and place that stuff which you can create a new hole. My mechanic friend drilled a new hold for my truck in the thermostat housing for about a hundred bucks.

Anyhow, before doing that, might want to try cleaning the threads (both of them) really well & getting a new drain plug.
