What is the best set/type of pliers to use to get at the inner spring clamp on the short oil cooler hose? I just can't seem to get at this clamp. I can reach all of the rest, but not that one--and I'm ready to go crazy!!!!!

they are hell depending on how they are put on at the factory.

you can use a long nose 45 angle.

after you take it out. THROW THOSE SUCKERS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

get a screw on clamp and save hours next time.

Warmest regards

Rob

I've spent more than an hour to change only those two. Take your time, be innovative and try again. As I recall, I've dismounted things in their way.

Hi Bill,

Did you remove the heat shield from the CV joint bracket? If not, please do:). Once this is off, you can actually use a standard straight needle nose to get in there. It is not easy, but doable. Should not take too long. You may need to do it in two steps, rotate it so the tangs are accessible, then squeeze it and slowly guide it out.

Job done! Thank you for the very helpful hints. Larry, taking the shield off really made the difference. Ron98 , I ran out and bougtht the pliers you suggested. The combo worked--amen. Now, onto more hoses (ugh).

lol wooowooo!

happy you can get those suckers off.

thats the hardest part. good luck withthe assembly, use the screw driver type clamps and it works best and i would recommend it for coolant hoses too! if you ever do the ones under the car. the top two are the same nightmare as the oil hoses.

the clamps are aways facing the wrong way.

I hear you , Ron. I've been working on the hoses from front to rear of the car. Those damned double-pronged spring clamps on the middle hoses under the car were horrible. I did replace them with standard clamps and I plan to do the same for that short oil cooler hose. Once again, thank you for your help.

its Rob :)

anytime, its my pleasure to help out a fellow nsx owner.

hope you get back on the road soon.

happy motoring

Rob
