Oil Consumption

My 1991 stock engine with 30,000 miles had zero oil consumption on the street or track. My 1995 used replacement motor (did I mention that I ran at the track?) consumes about 1/4 quart in a couple thousand miles or in 100 to 200 miles on the track.
Is this regarded as normal and what experience have others had?

Not "normal" but not necessarily a sign of impending trouble. If you're concerned, you need to narrow down whether it is being burned or lost through leaks. If the engine does not have high miles and has not been subjected to overheating then it should not be burning that much due to rings or seals. (unless it had an ineffective aftermarket air filter) So start by checking things like the PCV valve, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, VTEC valves, etc. If there is no obvious leak or sign of oil on the garage floor, get the engine very clean top to bottom then start watching for small leaks.
