Oil Change ?

Ok i am getting ready to go to the Tail of the Dragon in a couple weeks. I thought it would be a good time for my first oil change. I picked up 6 quarts of royal purple and yesterday i went to the dealer and got my filter. It's kind of cool when there are not many cars around. I don't even have to tell them what car i have they already know when i go in.

Well when i got home i realized that i had forgotten the crush washer. So today i went back to the dealer and i told them i forgot the crush washer. The guy goes to the back and when he returns he hands me two washers. I didn't look at that time but when i got home i looked at what he gave me. The two washers are not the same size OD or ID. I assume that the small one is for the drain plug but not sure about the other one. Is the larger one for the filler cap?

The oil drain plug crush washer is 14mm. The very same 14mm crush washer is also used on the transmission drain plug. If the other washer he gave you measures out to be 20mm, then my guess is the mechanic gave you crush washers for the tranny fill/drain plugs.

Yes those are the sizes. I could only think of the filter, drain plug and the filler cap that need to be removed so i thought it would have to be one of them. I never even thought about the transmission. So since he gave me this does that mean i am supposed to check the transmission every time i change oil? Otherwise i will keep it for the future.

He might have just made a mistake and not been sure which was correct.

dont take the transmission drain plug out unless u want to drain your tranny fluid which im sure u don't wanna do when you're doing an oil change... my guess is he wasn't sure which one was right.
