OEM Radio Issues. AMP?

The radio works fine until i turn the volume up or down. I get a nasty static sound like some thing is scratching. Once i get to my desire volume the radio works just fine. its only when i adjust volume that makes the nasty sound.

Probably the volume knob potentiometer needs cleaning . for a cheap fix you could try turning it up and down a lot with the car off.

Check with Prime user BrianK (who services the head units) to see what he thinks. Head units are known to have capacitor issues but as vivanshah says, it may just be the volume potentiometer
