They are black and are in absolutely flawless condition (no wear on the bolsters or anywhere else). They are coming off of my 98 NSX (only 13K miles). I have had the car for about 7 months and the previous owner covered the seats with sheepskin covers from the day she bought the car until the day the car was delivered to me.
As for installation, the OEM seats are attached with hog-rings and plastic clips. Therefore, none of the stitching will be touched when it is taken off my car. It is completely plug and play, and you should be able to install it yourself (although if you are not familiar with hog rings, you may want to take it to a professional for installation).
