Ode to NSX hibernation

Well, it's that time of year.

While I've endured this difficult tradition in the past with other chariots of fire, this will be a first with with my NSX. It's time to put her into hibernation for the Winter. Today is my last day of driving it probably until sometime next April. I envy those of you in the warm and tropical nether regions of the country and world who pass by dozens of palm trees and shorelines taking the long way home from work. Over the next few months, Boston offers short days and long cold nights that start at 4:30 p.m. sub zero temps and lots of snow. (White crystalized water for those of you who aren't in the know).

As my thoughts of 180 mph straightaways and 75 mph offramps fade for the season, I look forward to the prospects of new adventures in '03. But before '02 fades into memory, I can't help but thinking a final important thought......

I hope my Jeep starts.

I'd rather have cold than heat. Though, I wouldn't want the snow.

We've been having inexplicable weather conditions here in L.A. Yesterday it was over 90 degrees. I'm not saying this to brag because I really HATE it.

I hope it gets cooler. Else, Christmas won't be the same.

McAttack,

Don't forget to call your insurance company to suspend your collision and liability coverages. When you see the credit on your policy, you won't feel so bad.

During the 8 years that I lived in Boston I always noticed the layer of insulation that the ladies put on.

Another good thing about living in Florida is thongs are always in season.

Just curious...what do you do to put the car to rest for the season? Do you need to disconnect anything, drain anything...etc? I don't think I will have to do it here in Oregon...but JIC

Dude, I've got room in my garage for your baby. I'll even exercise her regularly at no cost to you. It's cruel to keep her locked up all winter

This has been covered in numerous topics before - watch out for that Forums Nazi guy.

The only thing special I do is plug in a charger so that the battery doesn't run down.

Hey who is the NAZI guy. I have seen a couple of his posts and they don't seem bad so what is there to watch out for.

You are much too young to know the wrath of the forum nazi!

He points us to past threads that have the information we are looking for and then yells at us for not using the search function. =)

My car has been in the bubble for a month now. My girlfriend got me a set of really cool teddy bears wearing nomex race suits to put in the driver and passenger seats. Now it really looks like a toy!

NSXTC,
I guess I am not a Seinfeld follower. Shame on me! Never the less the Avatar it’s self is reminiscent of a chef correct? That must be the connection I made with food. But thank you for pointing me in the right direction. If you will excuse, me I have to go and watch JAG now. (The Navy Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps) Sorry no soup chefs.

.....Ask any Seinfeld fan about the "Soup Nazi"

The "Soup Nazi" character ran a food stand that specialized in delicious soup. He was belligerent to customers and if a customer said something he didn't like, he would utter his classic line, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

NSXTASY
Now I know the story behind the "Soup Nazi" As well as the connection with our very own Forums Nazi. Thank you for making it clear.

That's got to be one of, if not THE, best episode of Seinfeld. I just saw one another good one: the second spitter w/ Keith Hernandez. Then there's always the "King of My Domain" episode.

It was "Master of My Domain". And I think the official title was "The Contest".

And no, I'm not going to explain that one...

Yesterday was a good reason why not to take the insurance off of the car. The roads were dried off from all of the wind, the sun was out and it wasn't too cold. Woke the X up from her nap and took a nice drive.
60 miles of back road burning. Smiling again.
