OK, the Streets of Willow track event is 2 weeks away.

Our usual meeting place is the Starbucks on the corner of Walnut and Culver in Irvine, at the north/west corner of Walnut and Culver Dr. just south of the 5 fwy.

O/C Location:
Walnut Village
14437 Culver Drive
Irvine, CA 92714
United States
949-857-2737

Departure time: 5:00 am sharp ***New time

Assuming that we have to be there by 8:00, we can get there by 7:30 and have 30 mins to get gas and breakfast.

PM me if you need my cell phone number. In the past, it worked out really well picking up additional cars along the way without stopping.

The route is:
Fwy 5 N
Fwy 14 N

If you are along the way of the above route, and would like to ride with us, please let me know. Stragglers are welcome!

Some people are going to be joining us at 5 and 405. Gene, you can join them. I think we should be rolling by around 6:00 am.

I'll try to join up with you guys around the 405N and the 10!

I just realized that Nov. 10 is an observed holiday by many people (Veteran's Day). Traffic should be much lighter going up and coming back down. Should we stick to the I-5 route all the way up?

If I time it right, I might be able to hook up with you guys at the 405 at Hawthorne Blvd

You need to give us a point-by on the freeway. That's the only chance I have to get a point-by by the track meister himself.

The track opens at 8, so please be there by 8 sharp. And also get a full tank of gas before you arrive. One track day can chew up 3/4 tank of gas. Marc's Elise will take over 1 tank per day. :)

You will definately want to fill up before arriving. There are a couple of gas stations right there on Rosamond Blvd when you get off the 14. Also, the track has credit card operated pumps with unleaded and racing gas.

Depending on how much you are out there and how hard you are hammering it, you will also probably want / need to fill up during lunch time as well...especially the supercharged cars.

Gas from the track is normally a lot more expensive. Don't get caught paying for high price gas.

Please note that I have changed the departure time from 5:30 to 5:00. It is close to 180 miles from Irvine to Rosamond. It'll take us close to 2.5 hours to get there and we need time to grab breakfast and gas.

Also for the caravan people, bring your club radio along if you have it. It may help in 'urgent' situations to alert each other of flashing red lights.
