Hi All,

Can someone please confirm if there are differences with the OBD2 port/computer between the NA1's (95/96) and the NA2's (97-05). My intial guess is yes (because of the ECU). But would like some expert advice to confirm.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem with my Magden PC that cannnot pickup some readings (gets output information from the OBD2 port, like the HKS Camp2). I'm not getting any help/answers from the manufactuer other than I have an "older" obd2 port. However, my ScanGauge2 picks up these readings fine. I have a 95 btw.

Thanks in advance!
Bill

No differences. OBDII is very strict and controls the diagnostic connector interface and communication. But not all data is standard. There is a set of info that is required, and anything beyond that is allowed, as long as the required stuff is there.

OBDII has been a federal requirement on all cars built since 1996. I've only read here on Prime that Acura got ahead by implementing it on the 1995 NSX as well. It's possible 1995 models are different from 1996 models, but I see it as a fairly black-or-white thing. If a vehicle complies with OBDII requirements then it's OBDII; if it's not compliant, then it's not OBDII.
